La eritrodermia en niños es una entidad rara y poco estudiada, que puede ser causada por múltiples enfermedades hereditarias, adquiridas o por consumo de medicamentos. La etiología difiere en parte según la edad, pero la clínica y los hallazgos histológicos pueden superponerse haciendo de esta entidad un reto diagnóstico. Es importante el reconocimiento temprano de la eritrodermia, ya que en ciertos casos puede ser una amenaza para la vida. El pronóstico y el tratamiento dependen de la causa de base.

Erythroderma in children is rare and poorly studied, which can be caused by multiple hereditary or acquired diseases or drug use. The etiology differs somewhat with age, but clinical and histological findings may overlap making this entity a diagnostic challenge. It is important early recognition of erythroderma because in certain scenarios can be a threat to life. Prognosis and treatment depend on the underlying cause.
